  1. Melt 1 tablespoon unsalted butter in a pan.

  2. Add in 1 tablespoon olive oil and mix it together.

  3. Add in 1 1/2 peeled and chopped onions.

  4. Cook down the onions until they are fully caramelized.

  5. Add in 2 cups chopped figs, 1/2 cup honey, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice. Mix all of it together.

  6.

  7. Cook until the ingredients begin to cook down and simmer.

  8. Add in 1/4 teaspoon sea salt and 1/4 teaspoon cracked black pepper. Cook entire mixture for about 30 minutes.

  9. Once it's done cooking down, work in 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar and then turn off the heat.

  10. Once it has cooled, give it a taste as it might need more vinegar. If so, then add in a little bit more vinegar.

  11. There you go...a delicious fig and onion jam.
