Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Halve your orange (or oranges), depending on how tossed you are planning to get, and roast it for 30 minutes on a parchment-lined baking sheet, running the broiler the last 5 minutes. Be sure to take in how wonderful your house smells. This is my favorite part! FACT: If you're a whiskey lover like myself, then here's a weird fact you might want to know. Mountain Dew was invented specifically to mix with whiskey. It's true! Despite pairing wonderfully with Frito Boats, this dorm room favorite was meant for something greater.
  • Be sure to let the oranges cool for about 30 minutes before you juice them. Warm orange juice will just melt all the ice and no one wants that!
  • In a mixing glass, combine juice from the roasted orange halves (3 ounces), 2 ounces of rye whiskey, a dash of orange bitters and ice. Cover and shake the hell out of it for 10 seconds.

  • Strain in a glass over ice and garnish with fresh rosemary.
  • Enjoy and let the drunk dialing begin!
