Lavender Simple Syrup

Simple syrup is just that...simple. It's easy to make and perfect for cocktails, and cold drinks of any kind as the sugar is already dissolved so you spend more time drinking and less time stirring. The great thing about simple syrup is you can flavor it with almost anything, like this one. I recommend this syrup for ice teas, ice cream and lemonade but experiment with it. I am sure there are many ways to enjoy it.

  • ¾ cup water
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lavender

Instructions

  • Using a small sauce pot, bring the sugar, water and lavender to a boil. NOTE: Please make sure you are using culinary lavender. While all lavender is edible, culinary lavender is light and sweet. Other forms are higher in camphor which is bitter but also treated as a toxin by the body.

  • Store in the refrigerator for up to one month.
  • Now you can make yummy drinks like this Lavender Mojito!
